NATURALLY-REARED TRIM & HEALTHY CANINES ... because pets deserve healthy food too
DAMAGE DONE BY PET FOODS
RunAmok Kavik - Arctic Spitz (aka Pomsky or Miniature Husky)
If I recommended you and your family only eat bagged, canned or boxed foods, you would immediately recognize that I had no understanding of nutrition - In fact, you might even set me straight - because you know fresh foods are healthiest and can be utilized by our bodies far more readily than any "product"...
Why then, do we fall for the pet food manufacturers' marketing hype - knowing they spend millions to market this very idea that our pets should only eat a packaged product... It seems illogical to "bite" - especially when we know they literally make billions each year in profit?
The idea that eating the same, processed product, day after day, year after year, could ever be healthier than real, fresh food is... ludicrous... Yet, this concept is what most veterinarians have been taught throughout their time in vet school. Worse, this concept is then, wholeheartedly, recommended to their clients over the span of these veterinarians' careers.
While serving as Nutrition Specialist for a prominent, very successful pet supplement company, I relied extensively on my decades of natural-rearing and breeding experience. It was this background I found most valuable, as I regularly worked with over 20 new clients each week – rarely simple cases. Many of these animals suffered from multiple health issues, such as renal failure, diabetes, and severe allergies - all in the same pet. It is staggering to learn, statistically, 1 in 2 pets will develop cancer on current veterinary protocols! As both Nutrition Consultant and as professional breeder, I have seen, first-hand, the horrific results of "kibble" fed to generations of dogs and cats. The damage done is an absolute travesty.
On the flip-side, my husband and I share nearly 60 years combined experience raising beautiful, family-oriented, healthy puppies. As co-founding members of the Natural Rearing Breeders Association, we focus on feeding a SARF diet (Species Appropriate Raw Food) to our lovely companions, and providing a safe, chemical-free environment, complete with naturopathic preventative care. Our NR program has produced generations of animals --allowing us to uniquely experience the healing benefits of a natural diet and proper supplementation -- The contrast between "modern care" and "natural-rearing" would seem near-miraculous! Isn't it fascinating how efficient bodies function when given the correct building blocks?
SPECIES-APPROPRIATE RAW FOODS
To date, our family has raised 54 litters (covering a span of 4 adult generations) of puppies, using only real, species-appropriate foods and natural care. In stark contrast to the animals fed products and given chemical products, our dogs do not suffer from allergies, hot spots, chronic ear infections, periodontal disease, heart disease, thyroid disorders, adrenal issues, obesity, diabetes, hip or patella defects, renal failure or cancer. (In fact, remember the "1 out of 2 pets will develop cancer"? Of all our puppies, we only know of 1 who has developed cancer!) Truthfully, while we have gone far and beyond in our research, the science behind our Natural-Rearing success revolves around basic Biology!
For those who want to learn it "all", you can dig in and research - comparing the pH balance in the stomach, small intestines and large intestines of dogs fed kibble versus real food... You can research how vaccinations are made; chemical 'parasite control", and much more...
But never fear! Even if that last paragraph makes your hands sweaty and your heart is now racing... Even if you failed science class, and are certain you never wish to "go there" again... You do not need a degree to understand the "how to" of feeding a natural diet! This is exceptionally simple, while also being very cost effective!
Whether you are starting "fresh" with a new puppy, or desire to give optimal care to an aging or sick pet, Natural-Rearing is the logical approach! Proper care results in healthy, long-lived animals and minimal veterinary bills. Our proficiency in this realm can benefit your 4-legged family members as well!
