TRIM HEALTHY MAMA, EVERYWHERE!!
It would seem the sky has literally opened up and is raining new recipes and resources down upon us! (Or... has it?)
Sadly, many well-meaning folks do not understand the food categories clearly enough to adapt their recipes to meet THM guidelines for “S”, “E” and “FP". Unless you are already very familiar with the plan, it can be difficult to differentiate which recipes actually meet THM guidelines and which will sabotage your efforts.
It is so very important to learn the foundational principles of Trim Healthy Mama – and no amount of Internet surfing, Facebook browsing or recipe-collecting can possibly replace the absolute GOLD found in the book pages. For those who are busy, I know this will not be a popular recommendation, but taking the time to read the book, in its entirety, is important to your future success.
This means NO skipping chapters, NO “skimming” pages... Really delve into each section... and don't be afraid to highlight or underline new information - even whole sections - for quick reference later! Trust me, you will be SO glad you followed this advice!
The are over 200 PAGES of recipes. Can you imagine? I have been solely following THM for over 20 months and haven't even come close to trying them all! Many are quick recipes, taking less than 5 - 10 minutes to prepare...
The book recipes are also amazingly easy to utilize - especially when one is first starting out - because you can learn the food categories, just by following the recipes as written!
If you are having an “S” day, just go through and pick “S” breakfast, snack, lunch, snack and dinner recipes! Easy! Same goes for “E” days... Pick out the recipes, and you are ready to go! (I lost my first 45 pounds, just using the recipes from the book!)
