Fall is in the air... some of us in the north have already had a light frost or two!
Firm, juicy, tangy-sweet berries are begging to be picked... but let's not fall back into old, health-destroying habits!
We can enjoy freshly-baked, mouth-watering crumbles, crisps, cobblers and pies... without adding loads of health-destroying sugar to our meals!
Here is one of our family favorites! This is considered an "S" for Trim Healthy Mama... Don't be alarmed at the addition of oats - there are not enough to cause a crossover.
Isn't it amazing that something like this is actually HEALTHY? Seems like a dream... but then I woke up and ate this for breakfast!
Everyone's taste-buds interpret sweetness a bit differently. As written, we find this not too sweet, and not too tart! The wholesome goodness of the berries will make your taste buds rejoice... and the crumble has a warm, subtle, nutty, spiced flavor... just perfect to accompany the burst of berry flavor!
Precision-run households may find my title, "RunAmok Mama" to feel a tad alarming, so I'd like to offer a quick assurance that my life is more an exercise of controlled chaos than sheer pandemonium!
